Killeen ISD May 11, 2026 Killeen ISD announces Walter Reed as the new superintendent for the district. Reed brings extensive experience in public education leadership and a strong commitment to academic excellence, student achievement, and community engagement. Throughout his career, he has focused on strengthening school culture, supporting educators, and creating opportunities that help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom. “The Board selected Mr. Reed because of his proven leadership, strategic vision, and dedication to student success,” said the Killeen ISD Board of Trustees. “His experience and passion for public education make him the right leader to guide Killeen ISD into the future.” Reed has served in multiple leadership roles throughout his career, including campus and district administration positions where he led initiatives centered on academic growth, operational excellence, and staff development. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and building strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the community. As superintendent, Reed will oversee the district’s continued efforts to provide high-quality educational opportunities while supporting the growth and success of all students across Killeen ISD.
